The proposals have been developed by Panattoni UK, Europe's largest privately-owned industrial developer.
Panattoni’s team has a proven track record of delivering sustainable development at scale which considers the embodied and operational carbon costs of a building, the impact on biodiversity, the way local communities and employees interact with a new scheme and how the power it needs during its operational phase is generated.
Panattoni is currently completing the development of Panattoni Park Aylesford, which Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council granted permission for in March 2021, on the 90-acre site adjacent to the River Medway. It’s now home to Amazon, DHL, Evri, Fowler Welch, Marley Tiles and Tesco – and when each of the tenants is fully operational later this year the site will employ 4,000 people.
The Aylesford development has successfully retained employment opportunities for the local community on a site which was once home to recycled paper manufacturer Aylesford Newsprint.
As part of the £180m development at Aylesford and its commitment to Kent, Panattoni has delivered an extensive package of community benefits, including 6km of new cycle paths and footpath, plus the construction of a £8m road, connecting Bellingham Way to Station Road, and restricting HGV access to Aylesford village. Panattoni is also working closely with Kent Wildlife Trust on a series of ecological projects.
In addition to Aylesford, Panattoni is also bringing forward a site at Kemsley in Swale, and has already secured DPD to take a 10-acre plot subject to planning permission. This plot sits alongside the first phase of the park, with two units of 440,000 sq ft and 205,000 sq ft respectively. Completion of the first phase’s two units is expected in March 2025.
